Ego - Protector as well as Destroyer

Ego is one of the natural defense mechanisms built into us to help navigate life’s challenges. However, in the process of protecting us, it can also create difficulties of its own. Consider a situation where a person (let’s call them A) has a close friend. At an event where both are present, A unknowingly does something that hurts the friend, who then stops talking to A. This makes A very upset. A struggles to accept the mistake, and at the same time, finds it difficult to initiate an open conversation or apology. As a result, guilt starts to build. If this guilt is not acknowledged and addressed quickly, it can continue to grow and become emotionally damaging.

This is where ego steps in. Its intention is actually protective. Since A cannot handle the guilt, the ego tries to shield them by shifting focus — reminding A of times when the friend was wrong or encouraging thoughts of superiority. This helps A avoid the discomfort of guilt but also creates a rift in the friendship. The ego itself is not “wrong”; it is simply trying to prevent emotional harm through alternative coping strategies.

But if A does not recognize this dynamic and resolve the situation, the friendship may suffer long-term damage. It is difficult, because ego resists anything that brings discomfort, including reconciliation. However, if A understands the true intention behind ego — its attempt to protect — A can move beyond it and repair the relationship. In this example, the ego tried to prevent inner pain but simultaneously risked destroying something deeply valuable. By learning to see and understand our ego, we can prevent it from unintentionally harming the things we care about most.

The wait for the right sound

We all learned in basic physics about resonance — the phenomenon that occurs when an external vibration matches the natural frequency of a system. At that moment, the system begins to absorb energy and vibrate with a much greater amplitude. For a long time, I searched everywhere for the “right” sound that could align with our own natural frequency. Eventually, I realized that it was always within us — the sound of “Om,” spoken in our own voice.

This sound is not just a chant; it is a bridge to the divine. When we chant “Om,” we align ourselves with the fundamental frequency of the universe and draw energy from an infinite cosmic source. It strengthens us, uplifts us, and helps us live fuller, better lives. So whenever life feels heavy or challenging, remember that you have within you a powerful way to tap into unlimited energy.

Truth - the indisputable essence

We often talk about truth — “Satyam” in Sanskrit — and say that discovering it is the ultimate goal in life. Yet, we tend to misunderstand truth by equating it simply with statements of true or false, or with honesty versus lies. The question then becomes: what is truth, really? If you take any topic and examine it deeply, debating whether it exists or doesn’t, whether it is right or wrong, you eventually arrive at something that can no longer be argued or denied.

This point beyond debate is the core essence of the subject. No matter where you begin, the process of inquiry leads to the same kind of ultimate essence. That essence — the part that remains after everything else is stripped away — is what we call truth.

We are looking at the wrong balance

We always keep talking about the work life balance and how we have to maintain a certain work-life balance for the sanity of self and the overall workplace. There is no such thing as work life balance. It is actually a myth based on how the work environments are evolving/transforming. Either we have life or we have work. The only closest way to achieve this balance is to integrate work into your life. But the important thing is we are looking at the wrong balance.

The real balance we all need to look into is the skills-ambition balance. If there is a work environment where the ambition far outweighs the skill-set then that needs to be checked. It is also a dangerous environment to be in, especially when there are no ethics in play. Work environments where skill-sets match ambition, that’s the kind of environments we want to be in. This balance definitely helps with maintaining the overall sanity of the environment. If we all watch our skills and our ambition and keep it balanced, that will definitely contribute to the overall well-being

The beauty of effort

Effort has only two possible outcomes

- It either gives the result OR

- It accumulates for a bigger result

So if you are doing something and think that you are not getting any result, please understand that its accumulating

Karma - Its nothing but a Residue

This is the definition I have finally arrived. If we are doing any task, karma is nothing but the residual effect in your mind related to that task once its done. Thats it.

For example, if you are doing any task and once it is done, if you start thinking that may be you could have done it better, or if you could have caused any harm to anyone, or if you have accumulated any guilt or even joy. It doesnt always have to be on the negative side, it can also be positive if you think that you have helped someone and you strongly feel about it.

Sometimes, we naturally help people that we love without even expecting anything. You wont feel either good or bad after that. You will feel a sense of relief. That means some burden has been reduced from your brain.

Knowing how limited I am!

When I first got in touch with Chat GPT. I felt like God stood infront of me and said I cannot give you anything, but I can answer any question you have that you can go ahead and use the response for whatever you want. It was such a tremendous feeling realizing that you have got so much power now but didnt even know what to do with it or how to use it. All I could ask is how to plan a vacation. That made me realize how limited I am that I even didnt know what to ask.

Limit is the real fun

We all cringe in life about the limited resources we have, limited money, limited strength to do things, limited time etc. But that limit is...
