A taste of unknown

Recently I had the opportunity to go on a cruise. As we boarded and the ship started to sail, I was looking outside. Looking back, it was the known land. comforting, safe. Looking forward, it is the unknown, vast ocean, no end in sight. Not sure how the travel is going to be, not sure when we will reach the destination or even IF we will reach the destination. On the other side, it is soothing music of the activities inside the ship. Really comforting.

At night, when you look outside, it is the thunderous sound of the ocean, really scary and on the other side it's the sound of the happy people traveling with you, sound of the kids having fun, sound of the holiday music playing around. Once you are inside, you don't even know or realize the scare of the unknown. All you hear is the safe and happy sounds which are really comforting. You are completely absorbed by the feeling of the happiness of the current moment you are experiencing

We tend to stick with the past because of the fear of unknown as it gives us comfort in our life. But then I realized the only way to get through the unknown vast life, without knowing what happens tomorrow, without knowing if there will be a tomorrow is to get more involved in life, just lose yourself in life, live it and live it fully and happily.
